Cancellation of 2020 Fall
Season
SVLL Families & Volunteers –
First let me
extend my thanks to all of you for your support of youth athletics and our
league in general. This has been an extremely difficult year, but I hope that
you are all staying healthy and have not been significantly impacted by the
pandemic. The Sunnyvale Little League Board of Directors continues to meet on a
regular basis, and we are in regular contact with the City of Sunnyvale.
Back in July, we started to evaluate if it would be possible to offer a
Fall Baseball program to our league participants. We collected feedback from
you and contemplated a variety of program options. Unfortunately, with current
state, county and city restrictions in place, any option of a fall offering
really is unviable. In addition to the primary restriction which prohibits
athletic competition for “contact sports,” the protocols required to
host a fall program were unrealistic for our league to undertake.
We
understand how disappointing this news is, but we will be preparing for the
2021 Spring Season in the coming weeks. Our goal is to open registration in
early December.

For those who elected to donate your 2020 spring
registration fees to the league, we wanted to extend a big thank you. Your
generosity will keep our league financially viable. You will receive a receipt
for tax purposes at the end of the year. If your employer matches charitable
contributions, please contact fundraising@sunnyvalelittleleague.com to request
an expedited receipt for match request purposes. Sunnyvale Little League is a
registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
