Late registration fees of $25 + the cost of any uniform special orders will be applied to all approved late registrations beyond February 2, 2023.

Refund Policy: Refund requests may be made up to February 1st, 2023 for Pioneer, Farm, Minors, Majors, Intermediate and Juniors divisions. A $25 fee will be applied to all refunds + the cost of the players uniform once uniform orders are made.

Challenger Division: Challenger is offered to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 4 years to adult, to enjoy the game of baseball.

Players not in the Challenger division play in their primary age division. For placement in Majors, Minors, Intermediate and Juniors, a draft process ultimately determines which players play at which level. If you feel strongly that your player belongs in a division that is different than their primary age, please contact our Upper Division Player Agent.

Appropriate Division by Age: The following is a guide for where players typically play by baseball age:

4 Year Olds
  • All 4 year olds play in T-Ball
5 Year Olds
  • Most 5 year olds play in T-Ball
6 Year Olds
  • Most 6 year olds play in Pioneer
7 Year Olds
  • Most 7 year olds will play in Pioneer
  • A few skilled 7 year olds may play-up to Farm
8 Year Olds

9 Year Olds
  • 9 year olds will play in either Minors or Farm
  • 9 year olds who wish to play in Minors must try-out
  • 9 year old who are not drafted in Minors, will play in the Farm division, unless they are deemed a safety risk in that division.
10 Year Olds
  • Most 10 year olds will play in Minors, but there is the possibility of placement in the Farm Division.
  • A few skilled 10 year olds may try out for Majors. 10 year olds trying out for the Majors Division does not guarantee placement at that level.
  • Parents of 10s who wish to have their child removed from consideration for Majors should indicate that at the tryout check in by writing "minors only" when they sign in.
  • 10 year old who are not drafted in Majors, will play in the Minors division, unless they are deemed a safety risk in that division.

12 Year Olds
  • All 12 year olds will play in the Majors division
  • A 12 year old will only play in Minors by mutual agreement between the parents and league if the player is deemed a safety risk. This also requires approval by the District Administrator.
13-14 Year Olds
  • 13 year olds may play in Intermediate.
  • 13-14 year olds may play in Juniors.

Divisions with a Waiting List: As we get close to the start of the season, we will place certain divisions into a "waiting list state" once we register enough players to form teams. If you attempt to register, and you are presented with a message which indicates that you are in a waiting list, it does not mean your child won't play this season. We do everything in our power to form equally balanced teams, so we have to limit the roster size for any given team. Roster sizes vary by division. If you are on a waiting list, it means that we still need more players to register in your respective division, so that we can form a whole team. You can help expedite this by introducing our league to your friends and have them register. If you have any questions about the waiting list, please reach out to our Player Agent at: playeragent@sunnyvalelittleleague.com
