Division Information |
|
|
Sunnyvale Little League has 8
divisions: Challenger, T-Ball, Pioneer, Farm, Minors, Majors, Intermediate and
Juniors. Players will typically be placed in the division which is appropriate
for the player's age, with the exception of our Challenger Division, which is
intended for children with developmental challenges. There are some exceptions
to this, but you should register for the division which is appropriate to the
players age.
Considerations for children aged 8
and up
While you are required to register your child for the
division that is age appropriate based on the player's "baseball age" (see
section 1 above to determine your child's baseball age). All players aged 9 to
14 will be required to go through our player evaluation event in January. We
will then assign the child to the appropriate division based on player
evaluations. For 8 year-olds with advanced baseball skills, you should register
for the Farm Division AND notify our Lower Division Player Agent by January
14th if you would like to have your child participate in player evaluations so
that they may be considered for our Minors Division.

Challenger Division:
Challenger is offered to enable boys and girls with developmental
challenges, ages 4 years to 22, to enjoy the game of baseball.
Players
not in the Challenger division play in their primary age division. For
placement in Majors, Minors, Intermediate and Juniors, a draft process
ultimately determines which players play at which level. If you feel strongly
that your player belongs in a division that is different than their primary
age, please contact our
Upper
Division Player Agent.
