Registration for
Fall Ball 2017 is now Open! - Registration Closes August 9th
What is Fall Ball?
Fall Ball is an
instructional program that emphasizes learning and developing skills in a less
competitive environment than Spring baseball. Players are encouraged to sharpen
their skills, try new positions, and have fun! Open to players of Little League
ages 5-12, Fall Ball is organized like Spring Little League with divisions Farm
thru Majors. If your child is ready to move up to the next division in Spring,
Fall Ball is a great way to prepare. Fall Ball is also great for players who
want to stay in the same division and can't wait until Spring to play ball!
There is also a Pioneer division with emphasis on skills development
and possible scrimmages. If there are enough manager volunteers and players,
then teams may be formed and games will be played. If we do not have enough
volunteers, then the program will be run clinic style with an emphasis on skill
development.
Little League is an all volunteer program. The Fall Ball
program is contingent on the number of managers and coaches that volunteer for
the program and the number of registrants. We're looking for managers, coaches,
and team administrators. If you can volunteer, please contact
registration@sunnyvalelittleleague.com.
If you have
general questions about Fall Ball, please review the information on the
Sunnyvale Little League website or send an email to
registration@sunnyvalelittleleague.com.
What are the dates for Fall Ball?
Fall ball will run
from August 20th through October 29th, excluding Labor Day weekend. All games
will be on Sundayafternoons. Games will start after Labor Day.
What are the fees?
$125 for all Farm (ages 6-9),
Minors (8-11), and Majors (9-12). $100 for Pioneer (ages 5-8)
Where will we play?
We will play games against teams
in locations/leagues from within our District, which may include Sunnyvale,
Mountain View, Cupertino, and Santa Clara. Pioneer will play only within our
program at our local parks (DeAnza Park or Serra Park).
Will my child be with their friends/classmates?
Yes,
we can honor buddy requests in Fall Ball. (We are not required to do a draft.)
There is a space in the registration form to request friends you would like
your child to play with, and we will do our best to honor these requests. If
you have any questions, please email
registration@sunnyvalelittleleague.com.
What do we need to bring?
Players should wear
baseball attire and bring a water bottle and baseball gear, including: glove,
bat, athletic cup (for Farm and above), cleats, baseball pants, etc. For their
protection, please be sure the players do not wear shorts or short socks.
Sunnyvale Little League will provide Fall Ball caps and t-shirts.
What is the time commitment from my family?
All
games will be on Sundays against teams from locations/leagues from within our
District, which may include Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Los Altos, and Santa
Clara. There is one practice during the week (some managers will offer
additional practices during the week). There may also be some optional skills
clinics offered through the season.
